Our Core

Our CORE values define who we are not only as a firm, but as responsible citizens and protectors of the public through our technical expertise and respect for the tasks we undertake. Our continuing mission to provide solutions that stand out as a source of pride in our communities is founded on our three core competencies.

Surpass

At SEP, we are creative thinkers and problem solvers. We are not a traditional consultancy focused on work produced within a vacuum of computations and drawings. Beyond our structural design expertise, we leverage our past and ongoing experience with construction and forensic engineering to provide comprehensive solutions to your projects. We delve beyond the conventional and focus on innovation, sustainability, and resilience while maintaining cost efficiency and safety.

Execute

A project reflects the application of engineering theories in a methodical manner to achieve a desired result. While an engineering design solves a problem, by definition it does not explain or leverage the “how” and “why” of the end result. SEP adds creativity and science to our engineering project process; we start with the “why” and the “how” comes naturally.

Whether we are providing a design solution for a structure, forensically solving the cause of a failure, or performing research and development on an industry innovation, our team visualizes the collective problem to arrive at a solution that balances safety, cost, and durability. This approach reduces project risk for clients and owners while promoting economy and resiliency.

Partner

At SEP, we strive for long-term teaming relationships. We choose to work with clients that share our comprehensive approach to all tasks that we undertake. We believe in project partnering as a tool to promote mutual objectives and mitigate the “us” versus “them” approach that often leads to misunderstandings and project challenges. This allows us to spend more of our time creating solutions with our clients and solving complex problems early on in the design process. This approach results in long-term partnerships that produce successful projects.
